Comparing apps
You can use the Comparison Radar to determine how different apps stack up against each other and against the average in their app category. This feature helps you to identify the strengths and weaknesses of your app, as defined by app users.
Procedure
- Click the Compare tab to access the Comparison Radar.
- Use any of these options to customize the information that your comparison radar chart
shows.
The comparison radar chart displays only the attribute data that is available for all of the selected apps. For example, if the first app that you add to your chart has reviews and scores that are mapped to all 10 attributes, all of that data is displayed. If the next app that you add to the chart contains only data for three attributes, the chart is updated to display only the plotting for those three attributes. In the following example, four mobile News apps are added to the comparison radar chart. Each app is color coded for easy identification. The points that are connected by the dotted line show the average attribute scores for the News app category.Option Description Select a recommended app for comparison If available, MobileFirst Quality Assurance lists apps that are similar to your selected app in the Recommended Apps area. You can select up to 5 recommended apps to compare and display their results in a different color on the radar chart. Click a recommended app to add it to the chart. Add apps to the comparison radar chart In the Search apps to compare field, enter the name of an app to add to the chart. You can add other apps from the default country store to compare against your app. The default store is the country that you specified for the app store when enabling user sentiment.
You can also add apps from another country store to compare your app with apps in another country. Click the default country and from the list of available countries, select a country to indicate the location of the app store.
Tip: If you search for an app in the United States (US) app store, the following apps are returned:- apps from the US version of the Apple iTunes App Store
- apps from the en locale within the Google Play App Store
If you search for an app in the Canadian (CA) app store, the following apps are returned:- apps from the Canadian version of the Apple iTunes App Store
- apps from the fr_CA locale within the Google Play App Store
You might also consider searching for the same app within the US country code to obtain en locale reviews for the Google Play App Store. Similarly, if you want to search for an Android app from the Australian (AU) market, first search for the app in the Great Britain (GB) app store. Next, try searching for the app in the United States (US) app store, since Google Play does not provide a separate locale code for Australian apps.
You can add a maximum of 5 apps to your comparison radar chart.
