About this task

The Manage view lists the local queue managers that are added to the .

You can select individual queue managers from the list to work with.

Procedure

  • To create a new local queue manager:
    1. Click the create button shows the create button in the queue manager list view.
    2. Enter a name for the new queue manager. The name can contain up to 48 characters. Valid characters are letters and numbers and the ., /, _, and % characters.
    3. Optional: Enter an available TCP/IP port for the queue manager to listen on. The port number must not exceed 65535. If you are configuring a high availability queue manager, the port must be available on both appliances in the high availability group.
    4. Click Next. If you have configured a high availability (HA) group, you can specify that the new queue manager is an HA queue manager. If you have no HA group, you can specify that you do not want this option to appear (if you subsequently create an HA group, the option is re-enabled).
    5. Click Next. You can, if required, specify that the file system for the queue manager is encrypted. Set the enable file system encryption option to on, and specify and confirm a passphrase for the encryption. The passphrase is stored on the appliance and so is available whenever the file system is mounted. If you need to replace an appliance SSD, or if the stored password is cleared from the appliance, you are required to re-enter the passphrase. You should make a note of the passphrase and keep it somewhere safe.
