Changing appliance names in high availability configurations
If you change the appliance name of either or both of the appliances in a high availability configuration, high availability operation is no longer available and data is likely to be partitioned.
If you need to change appliance names, you must use the following procedure:
- Remove the HA configuration on both appliances. You remove HA by removing queue managers from HA control, see Removing a queue manager from a high availability group by using the command line, and then removing the HA group itself, see Deleting a high availability group.
- Allocate new appliance names as required, see Configuring the appliance name by using the command line.
- Re-create the HA configuration by configuring the queue managers as described in Creating a high availability group by using the command line and Creating a high availability queue manager by using the command line.
