Upgrading and replacing hardware
How to upgrade or replace an appliance.
To upgrade an appliance, complete the following steps:
- Configure your new appliance.
- Transfer the queue managers to the new appliance.
There are several methods available to transfer configuration and queue managers to a new appliance. The available methods depend on the model of the existing and new appliances, and the existing high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configuration.
The following methods are applicable to all appliance models and firmware versions:
- Replacing an appliance by using back up and restore
- Transfer from an existing appliance in a disaster recovery configuration
- Transfer to a new appliance by using DR replication
