Lead time

The Lead Time widget shows the TOT_LDTME in days. Clicking the TOT_LDTME field presents the Lead time widget window.

The Lead Time widget provides information on how lead time is calculated, and enables you to modify the values and settings that are used in lead time calculations. It also shows the receipts that are used to calculate the average lead time.

The Lead Time widget sub heading displays the average lead time, and the lead time variance. The lead time variance is the variation between lead times of the receipts that are used in calculating the average lead time.

Total Lead Time

The Total Lead Time value is calculated by using the following formula:

Selected Lead Time + Review Lead Time + Delivery Lead Time = Total Lead Time

Select Lead time type value from the drop-down box to change the selected lead time used to calculate the total lead time (TOT_LDTME).

The different lead time settings are:

Average

  • Average supplier lead time forecast calculated by IBM® Maximo Inventory Optimization.

Manual

  • Allows manual entry of lead time in days.

Stated

  • Lead time stated by the supplier.

RVW_LDTME (Review lead time)

  • Internal lead time required to finish an administrative review and place an order.

DELIV_LDTME (Delivery lead time)

  • External lead time or the freight delivery lead time forecast.

Lead time supplier code and clipping

You can restrict or include receipts that are used in calculating the average lead time by imposing or removing lead time clipping limits and by selecting suppliers.

Lead time supplier code

You can adjust the Lead time supplier code to specify which Supplier receipts are used in the Average Lead Time Calculation. Available options are below:

  • All - The Inventory use receipts from all Suppliers
  • Auto (Default) - The Inventory use receipts from the Preferred Supplier, if no Preferred Supplier is available, the receipts from Alternate Suppliers are used
  • Preferred - Only receipts from the Preferred Supplier are used
  • Alternate - Only receipts from Alternate Suppliers are used

Lead Time Clipping

You can adjust the Lead time clipping for items as follows:

  • Auto (Default) - The inventory automatically clips receipts where the mean is +/- 2.5 * the standard deviation from the Average Lead Time Calculation
  • Manual - Enter a manual lead time value (days). For any receipts where lead time is greater than that value, the lead time is replaced by the calculated mean.
  • No Clipping - Do not Clip receipts from Average Lead Time Calculation

You can alter the Lead time supplier code and Lead time clipping at any time, but the calculation of average lead time is only performed during the monthly Periodic Update, so the average lead time remains unchanged until then.
