Draft items

Draft items are fictional or 'what-if?' item records that are used for the analysis of prospective data, rather than modifying or testing real data. Draft items are a component of IBM® Maximo Inventory Optimization and are not part of the master host ERP or EAM source data system.

Draft items are used to accurately calculate best initial stocking and reorder levels by using the same methodology as existing items in IBM Maximo Inventory Optimization.

For more information on differences between items and draft items, see Draft items vs normal items.

The 'Draft Item' feature of IBM Maximo Inventory Optimization is not generally available, but is available on request. It is limited by user and can only be used by designated users with specifically applied privileges.

The Draft Items module is used to manage the Draft Items, and works in a similar way to the Items module form and functions.

The interfaces of the Draft Items module, the Draft Items grid view and the Draft Items form view, operate similarly to the interfaces in the (normal) Items module, but with several key differences.
