Parameter controls
Select the wanted analysis period by using the Months Selected or YTD parameter controls.
- Months selected or YTD = months selected
- The starting month is the most recent month minus the number io months selected.
- Months selected or YTD = YTD
- The starting month is January of the year of the most recent month.
- Months of analysis
- Select the wanted quantity of months.
The inventory waterfall report
The inventory waterfall report consists of two sections. The first section is the waterfall dashboard. The second section contains the data table. All charts on display can be filtered according to division, district code, store, and control segment.
The waterfall dashboard
Three parts exist to the waterfall dashboard section of the inventory waterfall report.
- Stock value change
- The stock value change header shows the difference in stock value between the start and end month. With stock value change, a user can see the change in stock value of all items. The user can also view changes in the baseline stock value. Baseline stock value excludes the value of items that were added or removed after the starting month.
- Inventory bridge
- The inventory bridge chart displays the stock value of items at a starting date, and an ending
date. The chart provides four reasons for a difference in stocks between the start and end months.
- Items are added or newly priced.
- Items are removed or zero priced.
- Changes in price.
- Changes in stock on hand.
- Number of available months
- The number of available months indicates the number of months that are available in the data set. The highest number of months available in this report is 12.
Data table
The table graph displays information in tabular format. The same parameter controls and filters
from the Inventory waterfall graph are available. The following information is outlined in the data
table.
- Previous month stock value
- The sum of the stock value for all items in the previous month. This value can match the current month stock value of the previous month.
- Stock value or items added or newly priced since the previous month
- The sum of stock value of items that are present with greater than zero average price in the current month, but had zero average pricing in the previous month. Or, the sum of stock value of items that are present with greater than zero average price in the current month, but were not present in the previous month.
- Stock value or items removed, or zero-priced since the previous month
- The negative sum of stock value for items that do not exist in the current month, or, have zero average price in the current month, but were present with greater than zero average price in the previous month.
- Influence of price change on stock value since previous month
- The sum of the difference between the current month stock value minus the current month stock value that uses the previous month's average price. This chart indicates the impact of Price change that occurred since the previous month. It excludes the stock value of items that are added or newly priced and the stock value of items removed or zero-priced.
- Influence of stock on hand change on stock value since previous month
- The sum of the difference between the current month stock value minus the previous month stock value, minus the influence of price change on stock value since the previous month. This chart indicates the impact of stock on hand changes that occurred since the previous month, deducing the influence of price change. It excludes the stock value of items that are added or newly priced, and the stock value of items removed or zero-priced.
- Current month stock value
- The sum of the stock value of all items.
- Change in stock value from previous month
- The current stock value minus the stock value of the previous month.
Note: All values are displayed in the system's Corporate currency.
