Inventory bridge report
This report allows the user to identify the biggest inventory shifts over the past 12 months. The data that is used for the report is from the inventory history.
Data needed
This report requires at least two months of inventory data.
Accessing the Inventory Bridge report
- Click theAnalytics module.
- Scroll through the list of reports and then click Inventory bridge to open and view the report.
Interpreting each chart in the report
Inventory Value Change
This chart displays the absolute value of difference. The sum of the stock value for all items at the most recent data refresh date, minus the sum of the stock value for all items at the starting date.
- The percentage equals the absolute value of difference as a percentage of the sum of the stock value in corporate currency for all items at the most recent data refresh date.
- If the difference is greater than 0, the value Increase is displayed, and if the difference is less than 0, then the value Decerase is displayed.
The starting date and the most recent data refresh date are displayed.
Inventory Bridge
This waterfall-style chart shows a summed value for several categories, including the opening and closing balances.
The categories are represented on the x-axis, and one bar is shown for each category.
The y-axis represents the following values:
- For the opening balance, the value is the sum of the stock value in corporate currency for all items at the starting date. The bar represents the positive value starting from 0 on the y-axis.
- For the closing balance, the value is the sum of the stock value in corporate currency for all items at the most recent data refresh date. The bar represents the positive value starting from 0 on the y-axis.
- For all other categories, the value is the sum of the stock value in corporate currency where
all items are at the most recent data refresh date minus currency stock value in corporate currency
at the starting date for all items in the category.
- If the value is positive, the direction of the bar is upwards starting from the position of the top of the previous bar.
- If the value is negative, the direction of the bar is downwards starting from the position of the top of the previous bar.
- The value is displayed above the bar as well as the value as a percentage of the opening balance value.
- The color of the bar indicates if the value is positive (increase) or negative (decrease).
- When hovering over the bar, a tooltip is displayed to show the category and value of the bar and the definition of the category.
Category definitions
Categories are exclusively assigned to items in the following order:
