Report objective

The Find duplicate items report is used to identify multiple stock codes that reference the same part. Stock codes that share part numbers can be duplicated. In this case, they can be merged by using the Manage duplicates feature.

Interpreting each chart in the report

The potential duplicates dashboard contains the following elements:

  • Part numbers that match at least two materials chart.
  • Potential duplicates chart
  • Part number matching table
  • Equipment details

Part numbers that match at least two materials chart

This Part numbers chart shows the distinct count of part numbers that match at least two materials, per division or company. Hover over each bar to view the exact count of matching part numbers.

Potential duplicates chart

The potential duplicates chart is a list of part numbers that match more than one material for your selected division or company. To use the Potential duplicates chart, select a division or company from the Part numbers that match at least two materials chart. You are then able to view the following information:

  • The distinct count of material numbers or stock codes
  • The distinct count of item keys
Note: The distinct count of item keys can be greater than the distinct count of material numbers or stock codes. Multiple district codes and stores make it possible for one material number or stock code to have multiple item keys.

Items with part number matching table

With the Items with part number matching table, the cures can view all items that match the selected part number in any of the part number value fields. To use the Items with part number matching table, select a part number form the Potential duplicates chart. You are then able to view the following information:

  • Material number or stock code
  • Location alias
  • The presence of the selected part number in any of the part number fields
  • A description of the item
Note: The selected part number value is displayed in the title. If no part number is selected, the title is "None".

Equipment details

To view the Equipment details chart, you need to select an item from the Items with part number matching chart. If any equipment is linked to the item, you are able to view information such as:

  • Equipment ID
  • Last issue date
  • BOM number

Download

The Download tab in the Top menu provides you with the opportunity to download material numbers or stock codes that match each part number value. This information is provided as various pages, where each part number value is provided on a different page.
