Modifying inventory items from the Item Grid view

By default, item values cannot be edited in the ITEMS grid view of IBM® Maximo Inventory Optimization.

When you double-click a field value in the Item Grid view, the item is opened in the Form view.

To edit values in ITEMS grid view, you must first enable a function that is called Grid edit by clicking the Grid edit button, which is on the main ITEMS grid view navigation ribbon.

The Grid edit function allows you to modify field values in item records that permit edits. When you activate the Grid Edit feature, many field values are disabled from editing because they are read-only cells that cannot be modified from within IBM Maximo Inventory Optimization.

To modify a field value that is not set to read only, double-click the cell and modify the value. Depending on the field type, some values present fixed values in a drop-down list.
