Enter or update cost values for cost types such as stockout penalty, holding cost
percentage, expediting cost, and purchase order line cost.
About this task
Use the Enter costs function to input cost values for different cost model fields. You can enter data values manually or define value expressions by using formulas.
Customize cost values by location to reflect regional or organizational differences.
Procedure
-
From the navigation menu, click .
-
Select a location from the Location list.
Important: Select the appropriate location before you enter any costs. The location determines which cost model configuration is used for data entry and ensures that costs are allocated to the correct location.
-
In the Select cost model field for data entry table, click the cost model field name where you want to enter or edit values.
Available fields may include the following options:
- EXPD_CST - Expediting Cost
- HLDG_CST_PCT - Holding Cost %
- PO_LN_CST - Purchasing Line Cost
- SOUT_CST - Stockout Penalty
Select the cost model field where you want to enter costs. The Data exists column displays a checkmark if values are already entered for that field.
Note: To copy cost values from the selected location to other locations, select the checkbox next to the cost model field. This initiates the copy functionality, allowing you to replicate values across multiple locations without reentering data.
-
Enter cost values in the predefined cost model matrix.
The data entry method is determined by how the cost model field was previously defined:
- For fields defined as data value only, manually enter cost values for each combination of dimensions.
- For cost model fields defined as an expression, enter costs for VALUE fields.
If you have identical cost values across multiple matrices and there are more than two field dimensions in the data matrix, use the copy function to copy values from one matrix to another instead of reentering the values.
-
Click Save.
Important: When you save, the existing cost model values are overwritten with the new values. This action cannot be reversed. Ensure that your values are correct before you save.
