Viewing service levels of items on a graph

You can view a graphical representation of the service levels of stock inventory items on a graph from the ITEMS module. The Key Metrics or Graphs panel features a graph that displays service level and comparison graph thumbnails.

Each graph shows projected service levels and comparisons of current and recommended reorder level settings of tagged records, respectively.

The Key Metrics panel is hidden by default. To display Key Metrics panel, click the icon and select Toggle graphs on/off from the drop-down menu.

When no records are tagged the graphs show aggregated data for all inventory items in the group. Filters may also be used to define which records to include to refine the information presented. Hovering over the graphs provides a tooltip with more specific information on each bar.

Note: Records with Status that are marked A, D, E, or Not run are not included in the Key Metrics calculations.

Clicking the Service level graph presents the Service level details window.

Clicking the Comparison graph displays the Comparison of reorder level settings window.

Service level details window

The Service level details window has four main sections:

  • Settings
  • Filter options
  • A two-dimensional bar graph
  • A spreadsheet.

Both the graph and spreadsheet show the same data: a breakdown of items by Criticality (Business Impact Code) and Service level.

Settings allow you to control the parameters of data.

Settings

The first set of options allows users to choose how item service levels are compared.

  • Service level variance % - Service level deviations from Optimal.
  • Current host service level % - Service levels based on values in the Host ERP records.
  • Recommended service level % - Service levels as recommended by IBM® Maximo Inventory Optimization.

The second set of options allows users to choose how the aggregate items are represented.

  • Item count - the number of items that fall within the stated parameters.
  • Stock value - the total stock value of items that fall within said parameters.

Graph

Hovering the cursor over the individual bars in the graph presents a tooltip with a breakdown of the bar. Hovering the cursor over the Business Impact icons in the graph legend highlights corresponding items in the bar graph. Clicking a legend icon removes the respective values from the bar graph. Clicking deselected legend icons restores their values in the graph.

Spreadsheet

Users can select the Criticality values that they would like to include or exclude in the presented information. This can be done by clicking the respective checkboxes in the leftmost column of the spreadsheet.

Filter Options

Users may filter items that possess certain Criticality and Service levels values from within the Service level details window. To do this:

  1. Select the desired group of items.
  • Hold Ctrl and left-click to select multiple cells within the spreadsheet.
  1. Click Filter
  2. Click Save settings.

When this feature is used the respective label in the Filter Definition field will be Service level. Only those items that fall within the selected cells are visible in the grid view.

Once the new settings are applied the thumbnail preview in the Key Metrics panel will also be updated.

The new saved settings are applied each time the ITEMS module is loaded until it is changed.

Comparison of Reorder Level Settings Window

The Comparison of Reorder Level Settings window provides a spreadsheet of the Comparison thumbnail graph in the Key Metrics panel.

This spreadsheet provides more details regarding various inventory KPIs of the selected records.

The data is annualized and aggregated according to historical values, current and recommended reorder levels.

The values that are presented are read-only.
