Stock History Relocation
The Stock history relocation feature allows the transfer of historical data from a source item to a destination item, which has different location information.
Stock history relocation can also manage the stock movement where both source and destination location have the same stock, and the stock is all moved to destination location.
The stock movement can be because either the store is closed, or the stock is not required at source location.
The stock movement also happens between the base stores of plant level management (PLM) and in a shared environment.
Rules
To use Stock history relocation to transfer historical data from the source item to the destination item, the source and destination item must be in the Original or Merged state.
You need to provide the Division, District, and Stock Code to search source and destination items, and stock code must be the same in both the source and destination items.
Transfer historical data
- The source item Issues are moved to the destination item. The source item Division, Store, and Stock code are added for each Issues record that is moved from the source item. The source item Issues record becomes part of the destination item's Issues and will be used in the destination calculations if they match the issues criteria. Issue size is rebuilt for the destination item.
- You can use the Receipts option to move receipts from the source item to the destination item.
- If you choose to merge Receipts, the source item's receipts are moved to the destination item. The source item location and stock code are added for each receipts record that is moved from the source item. The receipts record becomes part of the destination item's Receipts and will be used in the destination calculations if they match the receipts criteria.
- A note is added to both the source and destination items to indicate the source and destination item location.
- The Transfer usage and Projected usage values are deleted, and Usage is set to 0 for the source item.
- The Transfer usage, Projected usage, and Usage are rebuilt on the destination item.
- The destination Usage periods are set to the maximum usage months of the source or destination item.
- The Lead time is rebuilt on both the source and destination item.
- The Usage, Transfer usage, Projected
usage, Issue Size, and Lead Time are also
calculated for the following items:
- Source and Destination PLM plant-level item if changes are made on a PLM substore
Both the source and destination item are calculated to produce new stocking level.
Set Item states
The source and destination item are set to Merged in the base state and Recalculated in the item state. If the source or destination item is part of a shared group, the shared group is recalculated and set to Merged and Recalculated states.
After historical data transfer, the source item is still a valid item. It is still in the ERP and data refresh can be made to the source item.
You can modify the source or destination item in the Merged base state. The source and destination item in the Merged base state must be approved and exported to the ERP to ensure the change of stocking levels in the ERP. When data is exported or refreshed, the Merged state is removed.
