Exporting Draft Items

Draft items export is a feature of IBM® Maximo Inventory Optimization that provides a powerful tool for inventory controllers. By exporting draft items, you have an opportunity to add any of the data that is required for inventory optimization before any record is exported to the ERP. After the data is added, it then runs optimization algorithms across these newly added Draft items to recommend the most efficient level of inventory.

The benefits of exporting Draft Items are:

  • To obtain initial optimized stocking values for items that are newly added to the ERP, but not to IBM Maximo Inventory Optimization.
  • To obtain initial stocking values for prospective items that can be used as part of the approvals process.

Accessing the Draft Items export feature

To access the Draft Items export feature, go to the DRAFT ITEMS module, click the actions menu , and select Exports, and then select your export profile.

Note: This feature must be enabled by your administrator or IBM Consultant.

Which Draft items can be exported?

Any Draft Items that satisfy the export profile conditions can be exported, regardless of how they were created. Only items that are recalculated or recalculated and saved can be selected for export.

Exported Draft items

After Draft items are exported, they are saved from a recalculated state, and shown as exported under the Export Code column, with the date and time also shown. If any items are not exported, the Export Code column reflects this result. The exported file is downloaded to the folder specified in the Export Profile.
