Creating draft items from default values

Create From Default draft items are created with data values set to global defaults.

These global defaults are used as a starting point for assessing prospective new records.

When creating new draft items records via this method the number of records to be created must be declared.

How to create draft items from defaults

Whether creating new draft items from the Item module or the Draft Item module, the system behavior and steps will be the same.

  1. From the actions menu, click Create Draft Items. The Create New Draft Items window displays.
  2. Select Create From Defaults.
  3. Enter a batch name. The batch name must be unique.
  4. Enter the number of records that are required.
  5. Click Save.
  • A confirmation pop will be presented indicating how many Draft Items will be created.
  1. Click Confirm.

Once the new draft items have been confirmed the user will be redirected to the Grid View of the Draft Item module where the newly created draft items will be listed. The newly created draft items will be identical in structure to normal item records, except for the Batch name field which is manually assigned by the user.
