Creating draft items

To create draft items, use the Create draft items function under actions in the item grid view. You can also find an option to create draft items on the Draft Items grid view.

When you choose to create new draft items, a window displays presenting three options for you to choose from:

  • Draft Items From Existing
  • Draft Items From Defaults
  • Draft Items From File

Draft items from existing

  • Allows you to create new draft item records based on real item records within IBM® Maximo Inventory Optimization. You can optionally declare which filters to use to specify which records the new draft records will be duplicated from.

Draft items from defaults

  • You can create a number of draft item records that include default values. You must declare how many records they require.

Draft items from file

  • You can upload a CSV file containing new draft item records. The data file that you use must conform to IBM Maximo Inventory Optimization specifications. A template is available for you to download and use.
Note:
  • Each batch of new draft items must be given a unique batch name by the user.
  • After you have completed all of the required options, a message appears to confirm how many draft items records will be created.
  • If you create draft items in the normal item grid view, you are redirected to the draft item grid view in the DRAFT ITEMS module, where the newly created draft items are listed.
