Creating public filters

Filters are private by default. When you initially save the filter, you can create a public filter.

Note: Select the Share with other users checkbox to create a public filter.

About this task

You must save a public filter with a unique name. If the filter name is not unique, the result depends on the user type:
  • If a regular user creates a new public filter with an existing name, an error message is displayed, and the filter is not saved.
  • If an administrator creates a new public filter with an existing name, the Filter name already exists, overwrite? message is displayed. If you select Yes, the older view is overwritten.
