Configuring workflow roles
The Workflow Roles feature of IBM® Maximo Inventory Optimization enables you to create number of different categories of personnel to be notified, depending upon the needs of your organization.
Approver
The Approver is the “sign-off” role: they have the final say regarding whether the change is accepted or rejected.
Every item change that has been flagged by a Workflow rule requires an Approver to approve the change before it can be committed and exported to the host ERP.
As such, there must always be an Approver role, and it cannot be deleted.
Example of other roles
These roles are the example of other roles that you can create.
- Endorser
- An individual who can endorse or oppose the proposed item change. Their endorsement can impact the Approver’s decision to approve the item change.
- Informed
- An individual who is made aware of possible change. However, their input on the proposed change is not necessary.
