Creating location profiles

A location profile contains information about production data for locations. You can use location profiles to assess the impact of a shutdown or a turnaround. You can also use location profiles to determine whether locations are meeting production goals that are based on the capacity of each installation.

About this task

When you create location profiles, you can also evaluate the capacity to contain the number of personnel that are essential for the work that is planned. Capacity planning can include the core crew, visitors, vendors, and contingency personnel.

Procedure

  1. In the Locations application, define a location to associate with this location profile.
  2. In the Location Profile application, click New Location Profile on the toolbar.
  3. On the Location Profile tab, specify the type and category of the location profile.
  4. In the Profile Details table, specify the asset, the location, and the point at which production is being constrained.
  5. On the Production tab, specify the production data, such as the type of product and the installation capacity.
  6. On the Persons on Board tab, specify the type of personnel that are associated with the location profile, and the time period during which personnel are on board.
  7. Optional: In the associated tabs, identify the specifications for the location profile, and use the work log or the communications log.
  8. Save the record.
