Classifying location profiles
Classify a location profile by linking it to a predefined classification. The addition of classification details to a location profile makes it simpler to manage location profiles in accordance with product specifications and plant and industry standards.
Before you begin
A classification must exist that is set up for use with location profiles.
About this task
You classify a location profile by using the Classification field. This field is available on both the Location Profile and Specifications tabs of the location profile record.
If the classification belongs to a hierarchy, the associated classification path is shown in the Classification field, from the top-level node in the hierarchy down to the selected node. In addition, any attributes that belong to the selected classification are added to the Specifications table.
Procedure
- In the Location Profile application, open the location profile record that you want to classify.
- On the Location Profile tab or the Specifications tab, click Detail Menu on the Classification field and then select an option to retrieve the essential classification.
- Save the record.
