Closing access permits

When all of the work activities are complete, and the plant is returned to a safe working condition, you can cancel or suspend active access permits.

About this task

You can review and audit the access permit before or after you close the record. Audit and survey records that are associated with access permits must belong to the same site and organization.

Procedure

  1. In the Access Permits application, select an access permit, and open the Closure tab.
  2. Indicate that the work was completed and that the plant was returned to a safe working condition.
  3. Indicate that all locks and keys that are associated with the access permit are returned.
  4. If the access permit must go through an audit process, specify the audit and survey record identifier.
  5. Change the status of the active access permit to canceled or suspended.
  6. Save the record.

What to do next

After you cancel an access permit, you can change the status to closed. If you suspend an access permit, you can reissue the permit or cancel it.
