Maintaining log books
To relay important safety or other shift information to your personnel, you can use log books. You can group shift logs and log entries together in to a book. Shift logs that are in a log book are filtered by common attributes such as asset, location, or time.
You can use the Log Book application to do the following activities:
- Create log books that group log entries. The log entries are sorted by the log entry that is set to expire first.
- Associate log books with calendar entries, shift logs, and log entries.
- Review individual log entries that are grouped within the same log book.
- Review details about the assets and locations that are associated with log entries.
- Take ownership of a log book or assign ownership of a log book.
- Add operator logs.
Note: You must create shift logs in the Operator Log application before you can add shift logs to a
log book.
You can also access log books, and apply shift logs to existing log books in the Operator Log application.
To use the Log Book application, you must enable the Use Log Books option by selecting Organizations > Oil and Gas Options > Operator Log - Options. You can grant access to the Log Book options in the Security Groups application.
