Configuring the application or industry solution

To configure the application or industry solution, you configure system properties.

About this task

All of these steps are completed in the application or industry solution that you are integrating the other Maximo® system with.

One of the properties that you can configure is the mxe.int.disableglvalidation system property. This property is used to enable or disable general ledger validation. By default, the property is set to 1, which disables general ledger validation. If you enable general ledger validation by setting the property to 0, ensure that general ledger validation is configured in your Maximo system. For more information, see Managing chart of accounts.

When general ledger validation is enabled and organization and site data is exported, the following data is also exported:
  • Inactive organizations and sites with the full account set.
  • General ledger components and chart of accounts.
  • Active organizations and sites with the account set cleared for the organization.

Enabling general ledger validation for the initial export of organization and site data adds complexity. You can enable general validation at any time and export organization and site data again.

Procedure

  1. Configure the external EAM system properties. These properties are used to enable work orders and service requests that are submitted to be created in the other Maximo system.
    1. In Maximo Health or Maximo Predict, from the navigation menu, select Application administration.
    2. In the System Properties application, in the Property Name field, search for mxe.eternaleam.
    3. Open the row for the mxe.externaleam.apikey system property and in the Current Value field, specify the other Maximo system integration user's API key and then save the row.
    4. Open the row for the mxe.externaleam.url system property and in the Current Value field, specify the URL for the other Maximo system and then save the row.
  2. Optional: Configure the mxe.int.disableglvalidation system property to enable general ledger validation.
    1. In the System Properties application, in the Property Name field, search for disableglvalidation.
    2. Open the row for the disableglvalidation system property and in the Current Value field, specify 0 and then save the row.
  3. If you are integrating with a Maximo 8.3 or 8.2 system, update the URL for the EXTERNALEAM endpoints.
    1. In the End Points application, in the End Point field, search for EXTERNALEAM.
    2. For the EXTERNALEAM, EXTERNALEAMWO, and EXTERNALEAMSR endpoints, for the URL property, replace api with oslc.
