IBM Maximo Models for Electrical Distribution

Starting in Maximo Health 8.9, you can use IBM Maximo Models for Electrical Distribution notebook templates to improve the reliability of energy and utility assets and locations.

You can calculate asset condition scores to identify risks that could lead to asset or location downtime. Maximo Models for Electrical Distribution include prebuilt notebooks and configuration files for several industry-specific asset classes for features that are available in Maximo Health.

IBM Maximo Models for Electrical Distribution includes asset class-specific notebooks that you can use to calculate scores or complete dissolved gas analysis (DGA) for specific asset classes. For more information about asset-class specific notebooks, see List of asset-class specific notebooks.

Out-of-the-box availability

Starting in Maximo Health 9.2, the Maximo Models for Electrical Distribution are included in Maximo Health by default and are available to use in Watson Studio without requiring data scientist configuration. If not done during installation or upgrade, an administrator needs to enable the external engine service and configure the prerequisites mentioned in each notebook to make the models available for use. Data scientist expertise is only required if you need to customize the notebooks for specific business requirements.

Advanced scoring capabilities

The electrical distribution models include advanced capabilities for ensuring score accuracy and reliability:

  • Data integrity scoring - Models evaluate the quality of your input data and calculate scores based on data completeness and accuracy. This helps you understand how reliable your asset data is.
  • Data reliability indicators - Each score includes indicators showing how much you can rely on the calculated score based on the quality and completeness of your data. This transparency helps you make more informed maintenance and investment decisions.
