Adding missing data for single asset

When an age, remaining useful life (RUL), or the mean time between failures (MTBF) for an asset is not calculated, you can add the necessary data to apply these calculations.

About this task

You can add the data to calculate the age and RUL from the table view or assets detail view. The following steps are to add missing data from the grid view of the Assets page.

Procedure

  1. On the Assets page, click the Table view to list all assets in the grid view.
  2. Optional: If the Installation Date and Expected life columns are not visible, click Manage columns and add them.
  3. Search an asset to add missing data.
  4. Add an installation date:
    1. Click the value in the installation date column.
    2. In the Installation date field, select the date on which an asset is installed for the first time.
    3. Click Update to save the data.
    The age of an asset is calculated.
  5. Add an expected life of an asset:
    1. Click the value in the expected life column.
    2. In the Manufacturers expected life field, specify the years of expected life of an asset as provided by its manufacturer.
    3. Click Update to save the data.
    The remaining useful life (RUL) of an asset is calculated.

Adding missing data on asset details page

About this task

The following steps are to add missing data from the asset details page.

Procedure

  1. On the Assets page, search and click the asset name to view the asset details page.
  2. On the RUL card, click the pencil icon to add missing data.
    1. In the Installation date field, select the date on which an asset is installed for the first time.
    2. In the Manufacturers expected life field, specify the years of expected life of an asset as provided by its manufacturer.
    3. Click Update to save the data.
    The age and remaining useful life of an asset is calculated.
