Modules and applications

The IBM® Maximo® Asset Management applications and the Maximo for Transportation applications are grouped into modules. You can access the modules and applications from the Go To menu in the Navigation toolbar.

Administration module
You use the applications in the Administration module to perform system administration tasks.
Assets module
The Assets module contains applications that are designed to manage the assets that are owned or leased by your company. Assets are managed from purchase to salvage, from the beginning to the end of the life cycle for an asset.
Data Import module
You use the applications in the Data Import module to import externally generated data into Maximo for Transportation.
Inventory module
You use the applications in the Inventory module to manage your inventory of spare parts. You can maximize the availability of items for upcoming work tasks, and also reduce excess inventory balances and related carrying costs.
Motor Pool module
You use the applications in the Motor Pool module to manage vehicle requests and dispatches and associated billing.
Planning module
You use the applications in the Planning module to plan how work is performed. For example, creating job plans that outline the steps that must be performed for each type of job.
Preventive Maintenance module
You use the applications in the Preventive Maintenance module to manage work that is performed on a regular schedule to keep assets running efficiently.
Warranties module
You use the applications in the Warranties module to manage item warranties, asset warranties, and warranty claims.
Work Orders module
You use the applications in the Work Orders module to track work that has been performed in the past and to plan future maintenance work.
