Operations shift review
The operations shift review is an optional exercise that is carried out during the initial stages of condition reporting. The purpose of the review is to analyze the reported condition, assess the impact on plant operations, and provide information for the process of condition report screening.
The requirement for an operations shift review is specified on the Condition or Screening tabs either by the creator or the reviewer of the condition report.
As a member of the operations shifts review team, you use the Add/Modify Operations Shift Review action to add details of the review. The review targets the following areas of information:
- Current operational state
- You specify the power level of the reactor and the plant mode that applies at the time of the operations shift review.
- Known impact
- You specify whether full or partial resolution of the condition report is required for entry to another plant mode. You also indicate whether it is necessary to enter a limiting condition for operation before taking further action.
- Potential impact
- If necessary, you request additional reviews to investigate in detail the impact of the reported condition on operability and the requirement to report the condition externally. For example, it might be necessary to report the condition to a regulatory authority.
- Tech specs
- You identify any tech spec records that are relevant to the reported condition and add them to the condition report. The regulations that are specified by the associated tech specs apply to the condition report.
You can view information about the most recent operations shift review, including the relevant tech specs, on the Screening tab of the condition report. You can view the history of operations shift review activities to date by using the View History action.
