Creating configuration changes

You create configuration changes by using component, change, or release records. The type of record you use depends on the type of change control that applies to the information that you want to change.

• If the information that you want to change requires approval, you must use a change or release record to process the configuration change.
• If the information that you want to change does not require approval, you can use the component record to process the configuration change.
