Condition report statuses
The status of a condition report determines the work that can be done on the record as it moves toward completion. The status also determines the users that have access to the condition report.
By default, you can change the status of a condition report manually. It is also possible to automate status changes and related events by using the workflow feature.
The following status markers are available for use with condition reports:
- Draft
Indicates a new condition report. Draft is the default status for condition reports that originate in the Condition Reports (Nuc) application, and condition reports that originate as condition reports in self-service Create Condition Report (Nuc) application.
The condition report remains in draft status while the condition is being defined and, where applicable, during the supervisor and operations shift reviews.
- Cancel
Indicates that the initiator has canceled the condition report. It is no longer possible to modify information, including status, on the condition report.
You cannot cancel a condition report unless it is in draft status, is not defined as a global record, and does not exert corrective action control over related work orders or preventive maintenance (PM) records.
- Waiting for Approval (WAPPR)
Indicates that the condition report has been assigned to a senior member of staff who acts as reviewer with responsibility for screening and verification.
The reviewer screens the condition report with the support of staff members in the relevant departments. Based on the information gathered to date, the reviewer decides whether further action is required and whether the record must be closed or approved and assigned.
- Approved (APPR)
Indicates that the reviewer has approved the condition report for follow-up and assigned it to a definitive owner or owner group.
The time of first approval is automatically entered as the actual start time for the condition report, unless a different value is manually specified. The condition report remains in an approved state while the owner carries out analysis and planning.
- Active
Indicates that a reviewer has approved analysis and planning details for the condition report, as completed by the owner.
The condition report remains active while the associated work activities are in progress. This includes work that is specified by activities in the condition report and in related work orders, PM records, and tickets.
- Completed (COMP)
Indicates that the owner has validated the completion of all work that is associated with the condition report. When the owner changes the status of a condition report to Completed, the status of all associated activities is automatically updated to the same value.
The time of completion is automatically entered as the actual finish time for the condition report, unless a different value is manually specified.
- Closed
Indicates that a reviewer has closed the condition report. If the reported condition does not require follow-up, the reviewer closes the condition report directly after screening. If the reported condition has been addressed and rectified, the condition report is closed when the reviewer validates the completion of all required actions and evaluates the results. In both cases, the condition report is retained for future reference and trending.
When the reviewer changes the status of a condition report to Closed, the status of all associated activities is automatically updated to the same value. It is not possible to modify a closed condition report except by editing the record in history mode.
- Edited in History (HISTEDIT)
Indicates that changes were made to the condition report while it was Closed or In History. This status is only used in the condition report history.
