Classifying solutions

You can classify a solution record by linking it to a predefined classification. The application of classification details helps you to categorize, standardize, and more easily manage solution records.

Before you begin

A classification that is set up for use with solutions must exist.

About this task

If the classification you select belongs to a hierarchy, the associated classification path is shown in the Classification field, from the top-level node in the hierarchy down to the selected node. In addition, any attributes that belong to the selected classification are added to the Specifications table.

You can classify or change the classification of a solution until you change the status of the record to Closed.

1. In the Solutions (Nuc) application, open the solution record that you want to classify.
2. On the Specifications tab, click the Detail Menu and then select Classify or Go To Classifications to retrieve the required classification.
3. Save the record.
