Extending due dates of calibration PM records
You extend the date of a preventive maintenance (PM) record to override the typical next due date for generating PM work orders. You can extend the due date of a PM for a calibration asset a specified number of times.
About this task
The number of times that you can extend the due date is configured in the Organizations application. The default number of times is 1. The due date of a calibration PM must be controlled so that the calibration schedule of an asset is completed on time.
If the allocated number of times to extend the due date is exceeded, you can override the extended date. Only users with security permissions can override the extended date.
When a calibration due date is extended on a preventive maintenance (PM) record, you can view this change on the associated master PM.
Procedure
- In the Preventive Maintenance application, select the PM record.
- On the Frequency tab, ensure the Estimated Next Due Date field contains a date.
- In the Extended Date field, specify
a value and enter a reason for extending the date. The date must be later than the Estimated Next Due Date.
- Optional: To adjust this date after the work order for the PM is generated, select the Adjust Next Due Date check box.
- Save your changes.
