New Defect detection application

The new Defect detection application is available in the Role Based Applications module. In the Defect detection application you can create folders, upload multiple photos of your assets that were captured by a drone or other devices and analyze the photos in IBM® Maximo Visual Inspection. When the analysis is completed, you can review the results to create defects.

For more information, see Defect detection features by Maximo Civil Infrastructure version number.

As an administrator, you use the System Properties application to adjust the number of photos that can be uploaded and analyzed at one time in Maximo Visual Inspection.

For more information, see Configuring the image stitching service in Maximo Civil Infrastructure 8.6.

As an administrator, you grant group-specific privileges to the Defect detection application. These privileges include read, insert, save, delete defects and change status privileges in the Defect detection application.

For more information, see Granting access to the Defect Detection application.

Improvements in the Defects application in Maximo Mobile

In the Defects application, you can also view the anomalies confidence scores to see how likely it is that the detected anomalies are defects. You can also select one or more anomalies and use the new menu with options, such as change the category, show, hide and delete the anomalies in IBM Maximo Mobile.

For more information, see Creating defects in the Defects application in Maximo Mobile.
