You can use Maximo® Data
Loader to create an Excel worksheet template
from an object structure in Maximo Civil Infrastructure.
About this task
You can export all of the attributes in a Maximo
object structure, or you can export the attributes in any query template that was created for the
object structure. For example, if you customize a Maximo Civil Infrastructure
application and add new fields to a table, you can create a query template and then use Maximo Data
Loader to create an Excel workbook template. The Excel workbook template
contains the additional fields that you added to the application. You can then populate the
additional fields in the Excel workbook and then use Maximo Data
Loader to load
the data, including for the additional fields, into Maximo Civil Infrastructure.
Procedure
-
From the Maximo Data
Loader
Data menu, click Create Template.
- In the Object structure drop-down list, select the object
structure that you want to create the template from.
The drop-down list displays only
object structures that are included in the data dictionary that is loaded. You can add more object
structures to the maxloader.properties file.
- In the Query template drop-down list, select a template that
exists for the object structure.
The drop-down list contains a OBJECTSTRUCTURENAME template _OS template which
contains all the attributes for the object structure that is selected. In addition, any query
template that exists for the object structure is displayed. A query template contains specific
attributes for the object structure.
- In the Workbook Name field, enter the name of the workbook
template that you want to create.
If the workbook exists in the workbook directory, Maximo Data
Loader
appends new worksheets to the existing workbook.
- Select the Create action.
Repeat this step for each
template that you want to export to the workbook template.
Results
For each template that you export, Maximo Data
Loader creates one or
more worksheets in the workbook. The worksheet template that is created contains the object name and
the primary keys and attribute details for the objects in the object structure. Cell C1 of each
worksheet is set to the query operation.
What to do next
You can use Maximo Data
Loader with the worksheet template to query a
Maximo Civil Infrastructure server and create a new worksheet that contains
the returned data. You can then edit the data in the new worksheet, if required, and use Maximo Data
Loader to import the data into the same or a different Maximo Civil Infrastructure instance.
