Creating defects
You can create and manage defects in the Assets (Civil) application, the Locations
(Civil) application, the Work Order Tracking (Civil) application, the Service Requests application,
the Defect detection application, and the Defects (HSE) application. In the Assets (Civil)
application and the Locations (Civil) application, you can create and manage defects from the BIM
model, the Forge viewer, or the map view. You can also create and manage defects by using IBM® Maximo® Mobile .
Creating defects in the Defect detection application
As a civil inspector, you can use the Defect Detection application to create folders to store asset photos and choose a visual inspection model for analysis. You can also upload individual photos or stitch them into a single image. Review the photos or analysis results, then create defects.
Creating defects in the Defects application in Maximo Mobile
As a civil inspector, you create defects, select a visual inspection model for analysis, and upload photos to analyze photos of your assets. You can then review the individual photos or the results of the analysis.
Creating defects in the Assets (Civil) and the Locations (Civil) applications
In the Assets (Civil) and the Locations (Civil) applications, you can create and classify a defect, assign a score to the defect, associate an image or web page with the defect, and enter the position of the defect.
Creating defects in the Work Order Tracking (Civil) application
In the Work Order Tracking (Civil) application, you can create defects for assets or locations that are related to a work order.
Creating defects in the Service Requests application
In the Service Requests application, on the Service Desk and the Work Orders sections, you can create defects, specify the value for the asset or the location, and check the related records for more details.
Creating defects on a model
In the Assets (Civil) application and the Locations (Civil) application, you can use Autodesk Forge Viewer to review Building Information Modeling (BIM) data to create defects from an asset or a location, or from drawing a markup.
Creating defects on a map
If you enabled maps for your assets, you can open the Create Defect dialog to create and modify defects without leaving the map view.
