Granting access to the Defect Detection application

As an administrator, you use the Security Groups application to grant group-specific access to the Defect Detection application. This group-specific access grants the permission to view and manage defects in the Defect Detection application.

About this task

To grant group-specific access to the Defect Detection application in version 9.0 and later, you complete only steps 1 and 2.

Procedure

  1. In the Security Groups application, select the relevant group.
  2. On the Applications tab, in the Applications section, filter for and select the Defect Detection application.
    Depending on the version of Maximo® Civil Infrastructure, complete the following steps and then grant group-specific privileges to the application:

    9.0 and later
    1. Click Manage/Apply Template.
    2. In the Add/Modify Authorization Template dialog, apply the template.
      1. Click Maximize Security Template Authorizations Section and on the Object Structures Authorization tab, review the object structures that are relevant to the Defects detection application.
      2. Click Apply Template.
      3. In the system message, click OK.
    3. Save the changes.

    8.6 and earlier
    1. In the Options for Defect Detection section, set Grant Access to on.
    2. Save the changes.
  3. In version 8.6 and earlier, on the Object Structures tab, in the Object Structures section, filter for and select the object structure and then grant group-specific privileges to manage defects in the Defect Detection application.

    MXAPITKCLASS
    1. In the Options for MXAPITKCLASS section, set Grant Access to on for the read privilege.
    2. Grant access to the remaining privileges.
    3. Save the changes.
    MXAPIASSET
    1. In the Options for Maximo API's Asset Definition section, set Grant Access to on for the read privilege.
    2. Grant access to the remaining privileges.
    3. Save the changes.
    MXAPIOPERLOC
    1. In the Options for Maximo API's Operation Location Definition section, set Grant Access to on for the read privilege.
    2. Grant access to the remaining privileges.
    3. Save the changes.
    MCIDEFECT
    1. In the Options for Maximo Defect API's Definition section, set Grant Access to on for the following privileges:
      • Delete MCIDEFECT
      • Insert MCIDEFECT
      • Read MCIDEFECT
      • Save MCIDEFECT
    2. In the Options section, grant the following privileges by setting Grant Access to on.
      • Can delete attachment allows users to delete attachments for a defect.
      • Change Status allows users to change the status of a defect.
    3. Save the changes.
    MCIWODETAIL
    1. In the Options for MCI OS for Work Orders with Inference section, click Grant Listed Options for This Object Structure to grant all the privileges.
    2. When the system message appears, click OK to confirm the changes to the group.
    3. Save the changes.
    MCIFOLDER
    1. In the Options for Folder API's Definition section, click Grant Listed Options for This Object Structure to grant all the privileges.
    2. When the system message appears, click OK to confirm the changes to the group.
    3. Save the changes.
    MCIANOMALYCATALOG
    1. In the Options for MCIANOMALYCATALOG section, set Grant Access to on for the access to the anomaly catalog privilege.
    2. Save the changes.
    MXAPIDOMAIN
    1. In the Options for API Domain Definition section, set Grant Access to on for the read privileges.
    2. Grant access to the remaining privileges.
    3. Save the changes.
