Temperature heat map
The Temperature heat map visualizes hourly temperature readings for wind turbine systems and components over a single day. It helps operators and maintenance teams quickly identify abnormal patterns, spot emergent risks, and prioritize corrective actions to maintain optimal performance and reduce downtime. The widget organizes components by system (e.g., gear box, generator, hydraulic) and encodes temperature conditions using a continuous color scale. The color intensity reflects how far each component’s hourly reading deviates from the farm’s hourly average, enabling at-a-glance comparison across turbines and components.
Widget Layout
The widget displays a heat map titled Temperature Heat Map. A system column lists components such as wind speed, gear box, generator, and hydraulic, along with their respective temperature trends. These systems and components are dynamic and can increase or decrease based on configuration changes.
Date range selection
Users can select a date range using the date picker located at the top-right corner of the widget. Navigation arrows allow movement to the previous or next date range. The maximum selectable range is one day, and by default, the widget displays data for the last 24 hours. When a global date calendar interval such as week, month, year, or custom is selected, the widget shows only the first day of that range.
Heat map visualization
The heat map displays temperature readings at hourly intervals. Each cell represents the temperature reading for a specific component at a specific hour. Colors indicate temperature conditions using a gradient fill: green for normal temperatures, yellow for alarming conditions, and red for critical states. The color intensity reflects deviation from the farm’s hourly average.
- Green indicates values below the farm average, with darker shades for greater differences.
- Yellow indicates values up to 10% above the average, intensifying as they approach the upper limit.
- Red indicates values more than 10% above the average, with deeper shades for larger deviations.
System and component breakdown
Wind speed appears at the top with average values. gear box includes oil temperature, IMS Bearing, HSS bearing, and LSS bearing. Generator includes Winding‑1, Winding‑2, Winding‑3, NDE Bearing, DE bearing, and slipring. Hydraulic includes HU Pump and Hydraulic Oil.
Icons and controls
The widget includes several interactive elements. A full-screen icon expands the widget for detailed viewing. An info icon provides additional details such as conditional formatting logic and update frequency. A menu icon offers options for exporting data, refreshing the widget, and accessing settings. A refresh button allows manual data updates, and an export button enables downloading the heat map in CSV, Excel, JPEG, or PNG formats.
Data source and update frequency
Temperature data is sourced from snowflake and updated every hour. The maximum delay for updates is ten minutes. This ensures near-real-time visibility for the current day.
