Use the string analysis capability in the Analysis module to monitor and evaluate the
performance of solar panels.
About this task
Important: String analysis is only for solar assets.
A string is a
sequence of solar panels that are connected together, where underperformance in one panel can reduce
the efficiency of the entire string. String analysis helps you detect anomalies, compare actual
output with expected benchmarks, and take corrective action to optimize energy yield.
Procedure
-
from the side navigation menu, click
.
- From the lists, make selections for the string that you want to analyze.
- The plant name, such as Aquila Power.
- The inverters that you want to analyze, such as ICR01-INV01.
- The module type, such as Trina_Solar_TSM_325PE14A.
- The date range for analysis, which must be a minimum of seven up to a maximum of 31 days of data
to analyze.
- To check the total number of strings and their connection status, review the
Data Quality chart.
- To analyze the percentage of normal and disconnected strings across each inverter, view
the String Analysis table.
This table ranks solar strings by performance, where a higher rank number indicates poorer
performance.
- To compare string current against theoretical maximum current and irradiance throughout
the selected time range, check the Specific Current & Irradiance graph .
This graph helps identify anomalies, such as underperforming or irregular strings.
The legend shows the status of the series:
- The best string is shown in green.
- The worst string is shown in red.
- The expected current is shown in blue.
- The radiance is shown in orange on the y-axis.
Results
Displays the performance of all selected strings in relation to the inverters they are connected
to or the overall plant, including data quality and a comparison of current output against the ideal
or expected output.
