Dashboard enablement

Dashboard enablement determines which dashboards are available for a project and how they are configured for different device categories. In this step, you select predefined dashboard configurations that control how operational data is visualized once onboarding is complete. Dashboards enabled here use the device hierarchy, metadata, and parameters configured in earlier steps. This ensures that charts, metrics, and navigation reflect the actual plant structure and available data.

How dashboard configurations work

Dashboard configurations are applied per device category, such as inverters, multifunction meters, string monitoring boxes, and weather monitoring systems. Each category can be associated with a predefined dashboard configuration, for example a Maximo® Renewables default configuration. These configurations determine the types of visualizations, KPIs, and views that are shown for the selected device category. Using default configurations helps standardize monitoring across projects while ensuring that dashboards are compatible with the available parameters and calculations. Manufacturer-specific defaults can also be applied, allowing dashboards to align with device capabilities and data characteristics without requiring manual customization.

Navigation and dashboard availability

Dashboard enablement also controls which dashboards appear in the navigation menu. By selecting a navigation option, such as a unified or single-view menu, you define how users access dashboards across the application. The selected navigation structure influences how easily users can move between plant-level and device-level dashboards. Clearing dashboard enablement resets selections, allowing configurations to be reapplied if needed. Once dashboard enablement is completed, dashboards become available to users according to the selected configurations and navigation settings, providing immediate visibility into plant performance after onboarding.
