Getting started with Maximo Manage

After you sign in, you see your start center. The start center contains links to actions, applications, and data records for you to begin the tasks that are relevant to your job.

First steps after signing in

When you first access Maximo® Manage, follow these steps to get oriented:

  1. Review your Start Center to see the applications and tools available to you based on your role.
  2. Click the Navigation menu icon (three horizontal lines) to view all available applications.
  3. Explore the Help menu for quick access to documentation and support resources.

Key concepts to understand

Start Center
Your personalized home page with quick access to frequently used tools and key performance indicators. See Start Center for details.
Applications
Specialized tools for managing different aspects of your assets, work orders, inventory, and more. Access applications from the navigation menu.
Records
Individual items you create and manage, such as work orders, assets, locations, and purchase orders.
Security groups
Groups that determine which applications and data you can access based on your role in the organization.

Common tasks for new users

Here are some common tasks to help you get started:

  • Search for records using the search bar at the top of any application
  • Create new records by clicking the + icon in list views
  • View and update your personal information from the user menu
  • Customize your Start Center by adding or removing portlets (if you have permission)
  • Set up notifications and alerts for important events

Finding help and documentation

Access help resources in several ways:

  • Click the Help icon (question mark) in the navigation bar for context-sensitive help
  • Use the Help menu to access full documentation, tutorials, and support resources
  • Explore the documentation navigation panel to learn about specific features and functions
  • Contact your system administrator for organization-specific guidance and training
