In IBM® Maximo® Application Suite, entitlements and access levels are used to control user roles and general access to individual applications. As an application administrator, you use security groups to control the aspects of Maximo Health that users can access after they are granted an entitlement and access level for the application.

To be members of a security group, users must have at least base entitlement and user access level to Maximo Health. Administrative security groups require a higher-level entitlement and access level. The MAXADMIN user is an internal user that is provided with Maximo Health and is automatically a member of the MAXADMIN security group. This user can be used for the enterprise system integration.

You can view members of and add members to a security group in the Security Groups application, which is accessible from the Maximo Health Start Center. To add a user to a security group, in that security group, open the Users tab and add a row for that user to the table.

The following table describes the Maximo Health security groups:

Security group Description
HEALTH Members have complete access to the Work queues tab and the Assets tab.
HEALTHSCORING Members have complete access to the Scoring tab.
MAXADMIN

Members have complete access to the Work queues tab, the Assets tab, the Scoring tab, the Application administration tab, and all of the applications in the Maximo Health Start Center, which includes the Maximo Health Administration Work Center. Members also can access all of the system integration components by using REST APIs.

To be added to this administrative security group, users must have premium application entitlement, premium administrator entitlement, and the administrator access level for Maximo Health.

HEALTHINTEGRATION Members can access the system integration components by using REST APIs.

By default, when users are granted an entitlement and access level for Maximo Health, they are automatically added to the HEALTH and HEALTHSCORING security groups. You can change which security groups users are automatically added to from the Maximo Health Start Center, in the System Properties application, by updating the Current Value field for the mxe.defaultgroup.health.user system property. Changes to the property do not affect users who are already granted an entitlement and access level to Maximo Health.
