A technical publication is a document, such as an airworthiness directive (AD) or service
bulletin (SB) that describes regulations or standards for aircraft or equipment. A technical
publication also identifies and tracks technical specifications, affected equipment, work
requirements, and related task cards.
Procedure

In the Technical Publications application, click the New Technical
Publication icon.

If the Publication field is empty, enter a value.

Enter a description in the Title field.

If the part number of multiple equipment records are to be updated when work is completed,
select the Apply Multiple Upgrades checkbox.

If the technical publication requires an assessment to determine its applicability and
compatibility to aircraft or equipment, select the Assessment Required
checkbox.
- Optional:
To limit the applicability of the technical publication, specify an organization or site.

Specify values for the Type field and the Required
By field.

Enter the date when the technical record takes effect.

In the Revision, Chapter,
Paragraph, and Part fields, enter values that
correspond to the original document.
The combination of these values must be unique to this technical publication.
- Optional:
In the Summary field, enter the details for the technical record.
For example, you can add the following details to the field:
- Objectives of the technical publication
- Requirements
- Equipment selection criteria
- Effective date
- Conditions when corrective action is necessary
- Details of the work that is necessary
- Termination conditions

If you use engineering orders, on the Engineering Orders tab, specify
completion details:
