Installation program log files

Log files are generated when you use the installation programs. You can analyze the files to view information about installation errors and about the processes that occurred. If an error occurs during the installation of the Oracle JDK or the Android SDK, examine the log files in the directories where they are installed.

Tivoli®'s process automation engine installation program log files

The log files can be found in the following locations:
  • tpae_home\logs
  • tpae_home\solutions\logs
  • tpae_home\maximo\tools\logs
  • tpae_home\CTG_DE\logs

The default tpae_home directory is C:\\IBM\\SMP on Windows or /opt/IBM/SMP on Linux or UNIX systems.

If you encounter an error during a validation task, logs can also be located within the home directory of the user that started the installation program. For example, browse to the C:\Users\Administrator directory on Windows computers.
