Configuring the initial and maximum breadth

The breadth determines the number of levels of relationship among CIs that are shown in the topology. The initial breadth determines the levels of connection in the initial view; the maximum breadth determines the maximum levels of connection that you view. You can configure system properties to change the initial and maximum breadth.

About this task

To configure the initial and maximum breadth, perform the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Click Open menu > System Configuration > Platform Configuration > System Properties to go to the System Properties application.
  2. Click Filter, type topo in the Property Name field, and press Enter to display a list of the two properties that are used to determine the initial and maximum breadth.

The pmgui.citopology.depth property determines the maximum breadth that you can specify in the topology; the pmgui.citopology.init property determines the breadth that is displayed by default when you open the topology view. You can edit either or both of these properties to change the breadth settings.

  3. To edit a property, open the property, type a different number in the Global Value field, and click Save icon to save the property. Repeat this step if you want to edit the other property.
  4. Click Refresh icon to refresh the system properties.

Results

After you edit either or both of these properties and refresh the system properties, the new settings will be in effect the next time you view the topology.
