Adding electronic signature requirements to objects and attributes

After administrators configure email messages, they can enable electronic signature requirements for specific objects and attributes.

Before you begin

Before enabling electronic signature verification for specific objects and attributes, ensure that you have completed all configurations that are required for your implementation.
Note: The addition of electronic signature is supported only for Work Order Tracking, Purchase Order, and Purchase Requisition.

About this task

When you enable electronic signature verification for an object or attribute, users must create an electronic signature key on the Set or Modify E-Signature Key window in their user profile. Then, whenever they attempt to change any record that has an electronic signature requirement, users must enter the electronic signature key.

Procedure

  1. In the Database Configuration application, select the object for which you want to require electronic signature verification.
  2. On the Attributes tab, expand the row for the attribute for which you want to require an electronic signature.
  3. In the Advanced section for the attribute, select the E-signature Enabled check box.
  4. Save the record.
  5. In the More Actions menu, click Manage eSig Actions.
  6. In the Applications table in the Manage eSig Actions window, select the application for which you want electronic signature verification.
  7. In the Options table for the application that you selected, select the E-signature Enabled check box for each action for which you want to require an electronic signature.
  8. Click OK.
