Searching for a ticket

You can use the search ticket function to search for tickets (an incident, problem, or a service request) that are in the database.

About this task

The search ticket function will search the database for tickets that match your search criteria since the indexing was last performed. Perform the following steps to run a search to find tickets.

Procedure

  1. Open the Incidents, Problem, Solution, or Service Request Applications.
  2. Click on the name of a ticket in the list view.
  3. In the toolbar, click the search icon to search for a ticket.
  4. Select the search incidents, search service requests, or search problems tab.
  5. Enter search terms into the field. You can also use the available logical operators "", ?, (), *, ~, and, or, not to search for a ticket that is indexed, but if you use the available logical operators to search for a ticket that is not indexed, the logical operators will be ignored and a simpler search will be done.
  6. Click the Detail Menu icon to show your search results.
