Using maps

If your administrator configures mapping for all of your sites, you can view maps that give you a more complete picture of how assets, configuration items (CIs), and other resources are geographically distributed.

The mapping feature is available in several product applications, including Service Address, Assets, Locations, Configuration Items (CI), Changes, Incidents, Releases, Problems, Service Requests, Activities and Tasks, and Work Order Tracking applications. Maps are easily accessed within the applications and help you manage resources more efficiently.

Before you can use mapping, your administrator must configure the mapping features. Mapping must be configured for your site. Service addresses must also be created. Service addresses are associated with records, such as changes, incidents, assets, and locations.

For more information about configuring maps, see the documentation for the Map Manager application.

For more information about configuring service addresses, see the documentation for the Service Address application.
