Assigning an owner or owner group to a solution
You can assign or change a person, or person group, to become the owner, or owner group, of a Solution at any time.
Assigning an owner or owner group to a Solution allows you to write reports and generate queries to display Solutions owned by a particular owner or group. You might add roles on Solution level (such as: created_by, ownergroup, reviewergroup) and apply the roles to solution records, so that they might be used to drive workflow, access, and maintenance of the solutions. You can also group solutions to enable customer separation on level of groups.
To assign or change an owner:
- In the Solutions application, display the record you want to assign.
- Go to Common Actions and select Select Owner.
- In the Select Owner dialog, click the Persons tab, if not already there.
- Click the Person from the Persons table to assign as the owner.
The Owner field displays the assigned person. If the Owner Group field was assigned before, it will now be empty.
To assign or change an owner group:
- In the Solutions application, display the record you want to assign.
- Go to Common Actions and select Select Owner.
- In the Select Owner dialog, click the Person Group tab, if not already there.
- Click the Person Group to assign as the owner group.
The Owner Group field displays the assigned person. If the Owner field was assigned before, it will now be empty.
