Attribute replacement rules specify the conditions
under which an attribute value is replaced at deployment time.
Procedure
- In a target environment, open the Migration Manager application
and select the Add/Modify Replacement Rules action.
- In the Select Migration Object window,
select a migration object in the tree and click Add/Modify
Rules.
- In the Replacement Rules section of the Add/Modify
Replacement Rules window, click New Row.
- Specify a name and sequence number for the rule.
- To enable the rule for immediate use, select Enabled.
- To apply the rule to database insertions, updates, or deletions,
select the Apply on Primary Object check boxes.
- On the Attributes tab, for each
attribute, click New Row and define the attribute
replacement rule:
- Specify the field to replace.
- To replace the value only when the value is null, select Replace
When Null.
- Select the type of replacement and specify the value.
You can specify a property name, value, MAXVAR value, or field.
- On the Conditions tab, for each
condition, click New Row and define the condition:
- To change the order in which the condition is applied,
change the value in the Condition field.
- In the Field Evaluation for Conditions section,
click New Row
- Specify an XML field.
- In the Evaluation Type field,
specify an operator.
- Specify the value to evaluate. You can specify a value,
MAXVAR value, or comparison field.
- Click OK.
