Creating a service request from a service request

Most Service Requests come from end users, but you can create a service request from another service request. When you create a Service Request this way, you create a relationship between the two records. Creating such a relationship usually is for information purposes only, with no inheritance of status or other type of linkage. However, your system administrator might configure the system to allow the Service Request to update the status of its originator.

To create a service request:

  1. In the Service Requests application, display the record for which you want to create a service request.

  2. Select the More Actions > Create > Create Service Request action. The system creates a Service Request record and informs you of its identifier.

You can view information about the record on the Related Records tab or display the record in the Service Requests application.
