Integrating with Slack

You can integrate features of Slack with Maximo IT. Using Slack, users can quickly update or submit a ticket via Chatops functionality and save records directly without logging in to Maximo IT user interface.

Before you begin

Make sure that the Slack Proxy Service URL is Public and Secure.

About this task

Slack is a cloud-based team collaboration tool that facilitates real-time messaging and file sharing. To know more about Slack, refer to https://zapier.com/apps/slack.

ChatOps is added in Maximo IT and integrated with the Slack application, allowing users to share real-time tickets status with other users in the Slack. Now with ChatOps and Slack integration, Maximo IT users can do the following with the Incidents, Service Requests, and Problems tickets:
  • Create ChatOps channel for the ticket
  • Assign ChatOps channel to the ticket
  • Post the ticket details on the ChatOps channel
As a Slack user, you can configure Slash commands in Slack for the following:
  • You can search solutions in the Maximo IT solutions database
  • You can search for tickets in Maximo IT based on the search text
  • You can update ticket details for Maximo IT tickets

Once the System Administrator configures Maximo IT and enables integration with Slack, Maximo IT users will be able to use the ChatOps feature to work with tickets.
